After today's (5/16/09) 3rd earthquake in the Barnett Shale region in less than eight months, I think my attached messages from August, 2007 and again in October, 2008 bear repeating.

Only a fool would keep flushing a stopped up toilet, right? Disgusting? Yes. Irresponsible? Definitely. But that's essentially what's happening in Fort Worth, Texas under the watch of the current elected officials.
Fort Worth Mayor, Mike Moncrief, and his city council brown-nosers keep flushing and we keep paying to clean up their mess. Case in point:
Irresponsible Gas Drilling.
The reason that irresponsible gas drilling is allowed in Fort Worth and other north Texas urban centers can be traced directly to Mike Moncrief's and former mayor Ken Barr's dishonorable association with the gas drilling industry. The buck stops with them. Consider the following: read more of this posting »
>>> Range Resources is a shining example of the callous behavior inherent in this industry. The CEO, John. H. Pinkerton, received compensation of $7.4 MILLION in 2008, a 23% increase from previous year:

Gas drillers are abusing planet Earth as if it's a disposable piece of trash. Property owners who irresponsibly lease their "minerals" to theses criminals are complicit in the destruction.
In the latest wake-up call, the NBC Today Show (4/2/09) highlights the impacts of gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale through the eyes of a fashion photographer:

How's life in YOUR town? Who's bought off and who's not?
Natural gas, the way it's now produced, is part of the problem.
Fight back. No compromise.

To heck with Tea Parties. We need a "hanging party" (metaphorically speaking) for a few environmental criminals and the bought off politicos who do their bidding.
This is serious folks and it's spreading all over the USA.
Brett Shipp of WFAA-TV pulls back the veils on the latest chapter of criminal activity in Texas. Where's a cop or a governor when you need one??? Somebody get me a rope.

Neighborhood activist and my compatriot in the gas drilling wars, Brooke, has put together an excellent short film you need to watch. The subject of, Carter Avenue Story, is the proposed installation of a natural gas pipeline (gathering line, actually) in a Fort Worth, Texas neighborhood.
Known as the Carter Avenue pipeline, it would be the first such large diameter line allowed to run through a densely populated neighborhood. If approved by the Fort Worth City Council, the 16" - 24" diameter pipe will carry un-odorized natural gas and cut through the yards of a four-block long street of low income residents. read more of this posting »
In the current issue of the Fort Worth Weekly, Jeff Prince reports on a few Texas women who are going beyond the call of duty to protect their homes, families and generations to come from gas drillers who are running amok on all we hold dear.
Their are many, many more unheralded women around the state and country who have been inspired to do the same.
All of them deserve our support.

This "must-see" new video report from WFAA-TV in Dallas puts into perspective the war of words between gas drilling fanatics and the scientific community. What's at stake? Clean air, drinkable water, public health and safety, green space and a livable world.
