Why has the City of Fort Worth and other local municipalities allowed gas drilling to proceed at a rapid pace without first answering basic environmental impact questions? The easy answer is that we have been duped by a callous industry that is above the law. Another reason is that some of our esteemed, elected officials are in on the take and looking the other way.

In light of the questions raised at the current Waxman hearings and evidence presented in this report by Tom Kane of the River Reporter, any and all responsible city governments should immediately enact a moratorium on gas drilling. I think you will find this report very interesting.

PS: Our friends in Damascus, PA, who are also fighting out of control gas drilling, have secured the services of famed environmental attorney, Richard Lippes. My hat is off to them for this coup. Please send Mr. Lippes to Fort Worth!
