Artists Against Gas Drilling
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, our friends in the Marcellus Shale region have paid Buzzworms in the Backyard a nice compliment and upped the ante for creative fundraising.
The good people of Damascus Citizens for Sustainability in Pennsylvania have a put a new twist on fundraising efforts to stop irresponsible gas drilling. First, they invited 27 professional and emerging artists to donate original artworks. Then, they searched for 27 donors to buy the artworks. All funds raised will help defray the legal costs of defending the Delaware River valley from desecration and poisoning by gas drilling.The gala opening party will take place Saturday, September 12, 2009.FWCanDo applauds DCS for this creative way of protecting the land and inhabitants of their region.
